A Rare Night in June

A Rare Night in June:
An Evening of Spring Poetry and Wine Tasting

Friday, June 9, 630 – 9 pm

Join us for a poetry workshop conducted by award-winning poet and teacher Linda Carney-Goodrich. Six poems will be complemented by six wines selected by local wine importer Migen Hasanaj of Carpe Vinum of Jamaica Plain, MA.

We will read each poem and then Migen will share tasting notes, the story of each wine, and why they were chosen.  Throughout the evening Linda will provide some writing prompts for participants to try their hand at writing their own poems.

Poem/Wine Pairings:

  1. From Blossoms (Lee) – Farinel Spumante Extra Dry, Borgo Lame – Piedmont
  2. Every Day You Play (Neruda) – Falanghina, Historia Antiqua – Campania
  3. More Than Enough (Piercy) – Anna’s Secret Rosato, Val di Toro – Tuscany
  4. Instructions on Not Giving Up (Limon) – Morellino Di Scansano, Val di Toro – Tuscany
  5. In Perpetual Spring (Gerstler) – Valpolicella Ripasso, Spada – Veneto
